We don't know what the actual odds are but we discovered that in versions 2.4 and earlier you couldn't win the big one at all.  This was a bug that we introduced when we changed the number of pictures in a Reel from 6 to 8.  We didn't make the appropriate changes to ensure the jackpot could be one.

We have reduced the odds down to about 5000 to 1.  That is that a number is generated randomly between 1 and 5000, if that number is equal to a special internal number then the big one will come up.

Unlike some commercial machines Picture Slots is truly random, the outcome is unknow with the exception of the Gamble option.  When you gamble you winnings the colour (Red or Black) is preselected and all you have to do is guess what colour the computer chose.
