Why are the Cells the size they are? |
Well, the cells are designed to be around the 113 pixels wide by 125 pixels high for a very good reason. When 15 of them are put together they form an almost perfect 6 x 4 inch photograph which is the standard size for a photograph from a film camera.
Digital SLR's provide the same dimensions but Compact Cameras and non-SLR's often have a different aspect ratio, but it is still close to 6 x 4.
